ABOUT THE BOOK

Author Zig Misiak felt that Native Nations involvement was hardly understood or simply misunderstood. He wanted to create a book that would facilitate the dialogue around the War of 1812, transitioning it from vague and incomplete, towards enlightening and informative.

Misiak then took a 500 km journey photographing War of 1812 historic sites in Ontario, adding maps, commentary, statistics, and unique photographs highlighting Natives during that time. The book is aligned with Route 1812, and all locations have GPS coordinates.
